Those who got the chance to taste Chef Pii’s original blend enjoyed a delicate balance in her ethically sourced ingredients: sunflower seed oil, raw honey, garlic, dragon fruit, pink Himalayan sea salt, dried spices, lemon juice, water, milk, distilled vinegar, and citric acid.
The team at Dave’s Gourmet has formulated an almost identical tasting recipe that both cuts costs for them and introduces something even better: a dairy-free, vegan and shelf-stable product.
“In less than a week, we nailed it,” Dave’s Gourmet President David Neuman said in a statement. “Our R&D team was able to re-formulate the sauce to match Chef Pii’s exact color and flavor profile for the product and at the same time change some of the ingredients to make the sauce less complicated, dairy-free, and clean of any preservatives, artificial colors, or flavors.”

The appearance of #PinkSauce on Walmart shelves brings with it some more amazing news: the new formula has been FDA-approved and is now made in a Safe Quality Food (SQF) facility.
